Linda and I get together with 2 of our favorite beaders, Debra and LaVonne, every few months to -share ideas, projects and just have some fun. In July we decided to add a new element to our beading night and established a Challenge Event. Linda had purchased some premade necklaces in 4 different colors and we all took one home to 'recreate' for our next get together.

Well, each one of us did a little something different...Linda arrived wearing her creation and it was fun, interesting and looked entirely different from the original necklace...as a matter of fact,
it took us quite sometime to realize she was wearing the c
hallenge. She used chain, ribbon, wire and beads to create a three strand necklace that was perfect with her outfit.
LaVonne kept the original design and used the openings to attach wire and green crystals- giving is a very sophisticated look.
I took a antique beaded pendant my friend Linda V. brought back from a European trip and added it as a focal point on the necklace and embellished the original design with seed beads and blue glass beads to create a more vintage feel.

Deb disassembled the original piece and added teal, blue and black beads and wire wrapped them to the original cord and extended its length. She then added a focal bead and dangles. We had a great time sharing our thought process and really enjoyed sharing our creative experiments. Can't wait until October for our next challenge...j
